abbie: sorry that i could not attend your opening gathering, not in california. have a costume/make-up student, very bright who wants to learn millinery and i will like to ask you and your coworkers if you accept apprentices in your shop. the student, female, is very dedicated and rapid learner, pleasant, clean, very interested in learning and a grade “a” student. if you could accept, i will give her credit for her work and monitor her attendance and work in your shop.

I have a nice Homburg, but last year my dog slept in it, all 20 lbs of her. The brim now tilts upward in very unflattering way, and can’t be induced to change back. Whereas I used to feel like the Godfather, now I look like Farmer Alfalfa. Can you fix it?
PS I long ago forgave my dog, Rita. Her master’s scent and all that, it’s kind of flattering. The hat, however, is not.

I am trying to find a true fedora like Humphrey Bogart wore as Sam Spade. I know they were individually shaped by each wearer, but none of the ones I have seen at places or sites on line seem to be even close to Sam’s. Do you have a line on such an item or other suggestions?
